Go beyond the expected and bike through the playground of the Adriatic. Ideal for cycling enthusiasts of every level, this adventure mixes alfresco thrills with cruises, sites from Game of Thrones, historic vineyards, local farms, UNESCO Sites, mouthwatering cuisine and even time on the beach. Tour Hvar, Korcula, Dubrovnik, Mljet and the Peljesac Peninsula. This sun-drenched adventure is an Exodus cycling classic. Prize winners must be 18+.

In order to qualify for the grand prize trip, you must have:

  1. Registered for Bike to Work Week 2017
  2. Logged kilometers for at least one trip that you chose to use a bike to get to instead of a vehicle during Bike to Work Week (May 29 - June 4)

Ride your bike this week and fall in love with two-wheeled transportation. Your participation helps generate momentum for safe, bike-friendly streets in Summerland.  The more people on their bikes, the more support created for bike-friendly trails, active transportation networks, and cycling/walking signage. It's that simple. You'll also feel good knowing you are saving money on gas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and helping your heart stay fit. Location: Beside the Summerland Library Parking Lot on Main Street

Serving refreshments, snacks, and encouragement to all cyclists. Every day will be hosted by a different Summerland business. Make sure to visit during your morning ride.

Community Group Ride  

Wednesday, May 31    

7:30 - 8:15 a.m.

Join us for a friendly community ride with members of City Council.The route follows the Action Fest 5.4 km loop around town. Meet at the Celebration Station at 7:30 a.m. and sign a liability waiver before the ride. Then, fuel up with goodies from our wonderful sponsor, True Grain Bakery.

Prizes are drawn from the online registrations. Cyclists must have logged in at least one commute during the week. Summerland prizes are drawn on Monday, June 5.

What a great week of cycling in the sun, sharing cycling stories while eating healthy snacks at our daily Celebration Stations, enjoying the diverse bikes that showed up, and witnessing the variety of happy cyclists in Summerland. Thank you to all the riders who registered and came by the Celebration Stations, the sponsors who provided food, refreshments, and encouragement, and to the volunteers who gave of their time and many talents. The numbers of registered riders increased this year again, to almost double from 2015 - impressive! Bike to Work BC is expanding and calling out to everyone to participate in this annual cycling event. Whether your destination is work, school, town, church, or trail, you are encouraged to register and log in your bike ride during the week. Every registered rider is included in the local community calculations and the provincial calculations. Last year over 36,000 happy BC cyclists registered for the event.
