2018 Bike to Work & School Week is May 28 - June 3, 2018!

To Qualify for the Grand Prize Trip Draw:

You must log kilometers for at least one trip that you choose to ride your bike instead of drive a motor vehicle to during Bike to Work & School Week, May 28 - June 3, 2018 (for example, if you choose to ride a bike instead of drive a motor vehicle to work, school, the gym, run errands, meet a friend for coffee, etc.). Enter the Exodus Prize Draw here: https://www.exodustravels.com/ca/cyclingBC-registration Note: if you enter, you will only qualify if you have logged a trip during May 28 – June 3, 2018.

This grand prize trip package includes economy class round trip airfare from the nearest international airport, hotel accommodations, a local leader and planned routes and itineraries with support vehicles to follow. Prize winner must be 18 years of age or older.

Friday, May 30 marked Oceanside’s second  Bus-Bike-Car challenge. Cyclist Andy Telfer took on motor vehicle commuter Cliff Craven and the regularly scheduled BC Transit Bus route #90, driven by Peter. All three started at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre and finished at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre.

The results: Craven, driving his car, arrived in 13 minutes and 50 seconds. Telfer arrived in 23:45, and the bus finished in the usual time for the run, 24:30, with about 12 passengers on the bus when it arrived.
