Day Three - Bike to Work Week
Bike to Work Week had another outstanding day of events on Wednesday May 31st.
Minister of Transportation, Honourable Kevin Falcon joined the morning celebration station behind the Greater Victoria Public Library. Minister Falcon spent more than an hour greeting people and experiencing Bike to Work Week.
The mid-week BBQ attracted more than 500 participants who lined the refreshing Gorge Waterway in anticipation of delicious burgers from M&M Meatshops with organic toppings provided by SPUD. Leslie Foord of AstraZeneca made a special trip from Vancouver to participate in the BBQ and may have stamped your passport!
Victoria Library - 259 people completed ballots. Attendance was steady!
Camosun College (Interurban Campus) - 90 people attended this new station. With the new Pacific Sports Complex planned for this area, we expect to see more and more participants in coming years!
Selkirk Trestle BBQ - 575 completed ballots! A fantastic turnout! Nearly 600 cyclists were counted on the Galloping Goose trail between 5:15-6:15pm!
Oak Bay Municipal Hall - 85 completed ballots and a greatly appreciative crowd! This was the first year for a station in the Oak Bay Village.
