Now that you’ve created a team it’s time to sign up as many team members as possible, and eventually, to track the kilometres your team rides during Bike to Work Week. Below are links to two versions of participant sign up sheets that can be used for this purpose.
Happy & Safe Riding, and please contact Mark or Martin with any questions.
Day 2 - wet and wonderful!
Day 2 of BTWW, and way to go Sunshine Coast! Despite the liquid sunshine, you were out in force both days, proving that Coasters are an interpid bunch.
So far the Sechelt station has hosted a total of 41 riders, while the Gibsons station has seen a whopping 120! The roving station was in Madeira Park on Monday to meet an enthusiastic 80 Madeira Park Elementary students; and in Davis Bay this morning where we met and fed and gifted 12 riders (and waved at another 10 who looked to be on a mission).
We have 79 teams registered so far, well in excess of the 61 last year and certainly at or near the top of the Province for a community of our size. Well done.
Sunshine Coast BTWW 2013
Welcome back returning Bike to Workers, and welcome to the club new users for 2013!
Bike to Work Week Sunshine Coast is back for 2013 - our 3rd year - hoping to get even more Coasters on their bikes. Once again the event is being brought to you by TraC (Transportation Choices), your advocacy group for all things alternative transporation on the coast.
2012 was an incredible success - we posted huge numbers and made the Coast proud. We were 4th in the Province in ridership as a percent of total population and 5th in km’s per total population.
This year will again feature 3 celebration stations to fuel your commute - in Gibsons, Sechelt and a third roving station. See the Events page for details.
Team Prizes Announced - 2012
Wow, what a fantastic event.
14,000km in just one week, Sunshine Coast Cyclists totally rock. We doubled our last year’s kilometres, enjoyed an endless list of spot and door prizes, and made one particular boy in Roberts Creek very happy after winning the Grand Prize Bike Give-away from Spin Cycles. Congratulations to Max Shaffer.
The Wrap up Party was also a hoot, with nealy 150 folk showing up at the Cafe, some fantastic pizza, a great start to bike polo on the Coast, even a guest appearance by our MLA Nicholas Simons.
After a week of collecting data, SC BTWW are pleased to annouce the following Team Prizes.
