Bike to Work Day - Wed Oct 7, 2009 (Greater Victoria only)
Thanks to all the Bike to Work Sponsors and Participants!
Bike to Work Day was a resounding success! The beautiful weather was an added benefit! The food was great and the coffee was hot. We were able to get the message out of the health benefits of biking to work, and also offer valuable safety tips for biking this winter.
Thanks also to the great media coverage to help us get the word out!
Shaw TV, A News, CFAX1070, Times Colonist and Monday Magazine.

Summer is behind us, but that doesn’t mean that it is time to put the bike away! On the contrary, cycling in the fall and winter months can be very pleasant with a little planning. To help keep you motivated to "Bike to Work", Bike to Work Victoria will be hosting two celebration stations on Wednesday October 7. (No registration!)
There will be free food and coffee to keep you warm!
Also we will have draw prizes so don’t forget to fill out your ballot at the celebration station!

Tips for Safe, Comfortable Cycling:
1. Be Visible - follow the rules of the road, wear bright, reflective clothing and ensure you have good front and rear lights visible up to 150 metres.
2. Always wear a helmet
3. Invest in some comfortable rain gear (and/or some bus tickets for the days that you don’t want to negotiate the weather!)
4. Choose your route to maximize comfort and enjoy the beautiful smells and colours of fall!
Being visible is very important and the best step you can take to ensure you that you continue to have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable ride!
