Bike to Work

Abbotsford is pleased to announce another successful Bike to Work Week in the works for 2008.

The City of Abbotsford with support from the Provincial Government  and ICBC officially opened a new bike lane on Tuesday October 9, 2007.

The official count for Bike to Work Week Abbotsford was 132 total cyclists including an astounding 52 new riders! 

A key measurement of event success is new riders.  One of the most important factors in influencing individuals to commute by bicycle is to encourage them to simply ride a bike.  From this experience, many perceived barriers drop away!

In the first official year joining Bike to Work Victoria, Abbotsford has fourteen teams registered to participate in Bike to Work Week.  If your team is registered and should be displayed please let us know!

The Abbotsford Cycling Area Group (ACAG) is launching it’s second annual Bike to Work Week event, and this year it promises to be bigger and better. 

Celebration stations will be held Monday and Friday with a group ride on Wednesday evening.  Participation is free and there are prizes to be won!
