Interested in Becoming a Team Leader?
Team leaders help to bring Bike to Work Week and biking as a habit to the workplace. Team leaders provide tips, ideas and information to fellow employees which gives these people an opportunity to explore the fun and health benefits of active living.
There are many benefits to being a leader:
- helping others
- encouraging support for cyclists and cycling at the workplace
- demonstrating leadership and initiative at work
- knowing about all of the new stuff first
- prizes - specific for team leaders
For those who want to see more people lead active, healthy lives being a team leader (or assistant team leader if your organization already has one or several) is a great way to inspire friends and colleagues!

Join my Bike to Work Week Team!
I just registered for Bike to Work Week which is May 27-June 2, would you like to join my team?
You only need to cycle one day to qualify for a prize draw to win great prizes!! I guarantee you will enjoy cycling to work! It will allow you to get your cardio in (twice!), the fresh air will wake you up and put you in a good mood, and you’ll feel good about making a positive step towards helping our environment (really, just like what those recycling commercials tell us, cycling to work even just once will decrease the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the air). You will qualify for prizes if you can cycle instead of drive at least once during Bike to Work Week (you don’t have to cycle all week!). Your participation also counts if you cycle your kids to school, cycle to run errands, cycle to work or to workout, or cycle to get to a family outing or social gathering. If you can’t cycle the entire distance to work, you can try taking a transit bus part-way and cycling the rest of the way! Check out BC Transit’s
tips on how to load your bike on the bus. It’s FREE and EASY! Central Fraser Valley bus schedules can be found here:
