Bike to Work Week 2008
Here’s a recap of Bike to Work Week 2008…

Celebrate a week of commuting by bike

What a great turnout we had at the final Celebration Station in Comox this morning!

48 bike riders stopped in and signed up for the prize draw and shared their experiences of the first annual Bike to Work Week in the Comox Valley.

Another 35 people wheeled by on their way to work, school, running errands….

or just enjoying the morning and being on their bike.

Thanks to all the volunteers and Simon’s Cycles for adding a little oil and making sure everyone’s bike was in tip top condition. The Medicine Shoppe in downtown Comox celebrated Bike to Work Week in style.

Hopefully the Bike from Work today will be just as fun and this week has inspired you to give bike commuting a try, or if you are a regular rider, that you share your journey with more two wheeled folks in the future!

Liquid sunshine at the Aquatic Centre

Dodging the raindrops, 18 bike commuters stopped off at the Celebration Station at The Aquatic Centre and another 8 were spotted riding by on their way to work today.

Thanks to all the volunteers and The Eagle 97.3 fm for adding a little music to a somewhat moist morning.

Why not stop by the final celebration station tomorrow morning?

Half way through the week already!

It was another beautiful morning to be out on your bike, enjoying the journey to work - we’re half way through the week already!
Today there were 2 Celebration Stations - we had 56 cyclists stop off at the I-Hos Gallery with 26 riding by on their way to work. In the village of Cumberland 15 folks stopped in and 13 others sped by on their way to work.

Thanks to all the volunteers, Simon’s Cycles and once again The Eagle 97.3 fm for broadcasting live from the event.

Why not stop by a celebration station one morning this week - there’s only two more chances to pick up a free gift from our generous sponsors and enter the prize draw?

Thursday June 5th - Aquatic Centre, Courtenay
Friday June 6th - Comox Recreation Centre, Comox

Thanks to all the volunteers, Trail Bicycles and The Eagle 97.3 fm
